The Technical Sales Support Manager – Broad Acre will be responsible for driving technical excellence and enhancing farmer engagement for BASF’s crop solutions. This position combines hands-on technical support with strategic relationship building, training, and market development. The successful candidate will lead farmer mapping and loyalty programs, manage demonstration trials, and provide in-field guidance throughout the crop cycle. This role is ideal for a technically skilled, customer-focused professional with strong agronomy expertise and a passion for achieving results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical training on broad acre products and crop knowledge to the sales team.
- Map and maintain an active database of broad acre farmers for strategic business development.
- Build and manage a farmers’ club and loyalty program to strengthen relationships and enhance retention.
- Conduct daily farmer visits to understand their needs and recommend tailored BASF solutions.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of prescribed orders in collaboration with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs).
- Support farmers throughout the crop cycle, from land preparation to harvest.
- Manage demonstration trials, including pre-launch trials, and share performance reports with teams.
- Generate farmer testimonials and support marketing initiatives for BASF solutions.
- Investigate and resolve complaints promptly while maintaining high customer service standards.
- Compile trial data and commercial insights into actionable information for sales and marketing teams.
What We Are Looking For:
- BSc in Agronomy or Agriculture.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the broad acre crop segment in Kenya.
- Strong expertise in crop protection and agronomy, particularly in row crops.
- Proven experience in farmer relationship management and a solution-based approach.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and entrepreneurial skills, coupled with high integrity and business acumen.
