Primary Purpose and Scope of the Job:

The role involves overseeing, directing, and coordinating the planning, organization, training, and leadership necessary to achieve objectives in sales, operational costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, hygiene, and overall restaurant sanitation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, food preparation, and serving standards, as well as repair and maintenance protocols.
  • Achieve company objectives in sales, service quality, facility appearance, and hygiene through effective employee training and fostering a positive, productive work environment.
  • Follow cash handling and reconciliation procedures in line with restaurant policies.
  • Address and resolve complaints regarding food quality and service.
  • Analyze financial statements and performance data to measure productivity and identify areas for cost reduction or program improvement.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure food and drink quality meets standards.
  • Manage personnel issues and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Implement fair and consistent corrective actions for any violations of company policies at the branch level.
  • Review operational procedures to identify opportunities for service and performance enhancement.
  • Organize branch meetings and provide leadership to foster team development and continuous improvement.
  • Manage staff shifts to ensure optimal coverage across all departments.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for subordinate staff.
  • Supervise the dining area and food and beverage service staff in accordance with established operating policies.
  • Actively seek, listen to, and respond to guest feedback.

Job Specifications:

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
  • Ability to review profit and loss statements.
  • Experience in mentoring, training, and developing staff.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficient in cash handling and operating a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrated coordination skills and strong ethical values.
  • Results-oriented, self-driven, articulate, and proactive.
  • Ability to make quick and sound decisions.
  • A degree or diploma in Food & Beverage Service or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Competent knowledge of customer service and people management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations or service within the food and beverage industry.
