Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality content for ROA communications and media channels, including the website and social media platforms.
  • Identify and create opportunities for engaging multimedia content that highlights the work of ROA.
  • Enhance media relations for ROA.
  • Ensure timely content development related to ROA activities and various events conducted in the region.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the risk communication portfolio in the region.
  • Support donor visibility for ROA activities.

Qualifications/Special Skills:

  • A first-level university degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in journalism, public relations, or communications, including social media and digital media management, is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is required.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe InDesign, Mailchimp, and basic Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is desirable. Experience in developing innovative social media campaigns, utilizing data for storytelling, and editing content is also desirable.
  • Experience in communication roles within the UN or similar international organizations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation is desirable.
