General Requirements

  • Proven experience as a product manager in a high-growth environment.
  • Background in payroll, HR, benefits, fintech, or related fields.
  • Strong judgment in making strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Demonstrable self-driven results that positively impact product direction.
  • Solid understanding of product design and user experience (UX).
  • Passion for creating functional products that address complex problems.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across various departments (e.g., business operations, sales).
  • Business-level proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Bonus: Experience working in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the team to develop solutions for payroll, benefits, and other services offered by Remote.

  • Take ownership of the entire experience, integrating both human and software elements to deliver value.
  • Lead initiatives with input from senior product team members, working autonomously on straightforward features while seeking support for complex challenges.
  • Manage internal expectations regarding your team’s projects, products, and features.
  • Contribute to both tactical and strategic decision-making for your area of responsibility.
  • Work with senior team members to develop cross-departmental solutions.

Guide Remote’s direction by creating an effective roadmap for your product area.

  • Collaborate with senior team members to establish long-term strategic plans.
  • Share a near-term strategic vision that incorporates market research and competitive analysis.
  • Become the subject matter expert for your product area.
  • Contribute to scaling and growth strategies for your product area.

Implement improvements iteratively, challenging yourself and your team to find minimal solutions to problems.

  • Support and lead a product team to ensure consistent throughput and return on investment.
  • Understand key business KPIs and align your team’s work to enhance these metrics.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to address significant customer challenges.

Foster communication and collaboration internally and externally.

  • Share your techniques, processes, and insights with the Product organization.
  • Promote your team’s work and its importance to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Work asynchronously and maintain transparency.
  • Lead initiatives with minimal support, managing simple features independently while seeking assistance for complex issues.
  • Develop expertise in articulating and resolving intricate business challenges related to our mobile experiences.
